SUICIDE PREVENTION AND AWARENESS COMPAIGN
REACHING YOUTH IN PERSON & ONLINE
Our mission is to combat youth suicide through a multi-faceted approach that equips students in-person and online.
IN PERSON
The Dear George Foundation presents ‘By Any Means’ a suicide prevention and awareness school tour. The shows exists to empower and motivate the youth of America, to remove the shame around asking for help and encourage them to do whatever it takes to fight for their lives.
The shows message is all about presenting young people with three accessible pathways to talk about and overcome depression, anxiety, bullying and any other issue that maybe getting them down.
ONLINE
Dear George Foundation is creating an online community for young people using a Youtube Channel, Instagram, Facebook and #deargeorge. DGF will use creative arts and local celebrities to create videos and posts that will capture a young audience and teach them purpose, hope and practical ways to reach out for help. The youth will be challenged to share a video of their own story, how they overcame suicide and depression, and/or encouragement on how to get through difficult situations.
Dear George Foundation has also begun creating an interactive app that young people can download to their mobile device to access help in times of crisis.
The key message of the programs and campaign:
